I have been watching a lot of people unboxing their comics sent to cgc. the issues they have with extremely low grading, does not even put in key information on the, and then say "oh i'll have to send this back in" i maybe wrong but does that mean they are just pushing out slabs without really looking at them?. Unfortunately there is no "black and white" in grading comic books, there are lots of "gray" areas such as a book that would otherwise be a nm 9.4 but has a small piece (1 8 1 4") missing from a corner or edge (this is only allowed in books vg 4.5 and lower), how much of a hit does the otherwise nm 9.4 take, there is nothing in the grading. The comics are graded on a 10 point number scale, with 10 being the best. the number scale is divided into intervals of 0.5 (ie. 7.5, 8.0, 8.5). comics with a high grade of above 9.0 are divided into intervals of 0.2 (ie. 9.0, 9.2, 9.4). a grade of 10.0 is extremely rare, even for books that are fresh from the comic distributer.
